Tenth Anniversary

It was ten years ago, on June 28, that NorthernMommy and Daddy exchanged their wedding vows.

At the time, they weren't yet Northern - or Mommy and Daddy. They were just two young people that God had brought together so that they could spend the rest of their lives united.

From the start, NorthernDaddy was mesmerized by NorthernMommy's beauty. He was drawn to her sense of adventure, and challenged by her independent will. Her compassionate heart and love for Christ inspired him. She captivated his heart, and changed his life forever for the good. NorthernDaddy fell in love - and remains there still.

NorthernMommy just liked Daddy's cute smile.

--
A decade ago, NorthernDaddy knew that he was setting off on an adventure. It's turned out to be the most wonderful adventure. NorthernMommy keeps finding new places to explore and new things to try - and NorthernDaddy is finding that she gets more beautiful as the years pass. Her heart stays young and teaches NorthernDaddy how to be a more loving person (not an easy task...).

Happy Tenth Wedding Anniversary, NorthernMommy!

Fishing

Every Father's Day, the Northerns go fishing. It's a must, it's a tradition.
--
LittleNortherner: "Are we going fishing in the rain?"

NorthernDaddy: "Yup. It's Father's Day. Gotta go."
--
NorthernMommy is always along for the ride. She has her fishing license and a rod - but using them is a challenge when she's constantly reminding the little Bill Dance to keep his shoes out of the lake, untangling snarls in his line, and hooking worms. NorthernDaddy? He's fishing.
--
It was sprinkling rain when the NorthernFamilyAdventureMobile started for the lake.

It was pouring buckets when they arrived.

Still gotta fish.

Back up close to the water and fish from under the hatch.

NorthernDaddy's been trying for years to get the bunny ears into a picture of LittleNortherner. Finally, success!

Baking Up a Surprise?

LittleNortherner helped NorthernMommy bake a pie.

Just wondering: if it takes a helmet and goggles to mix it up, is it going to be safe to eat?

Home Wrecker

Don't think anyone is surprised that LittleNortherner busted his bedroom window....

...just surprised that it didn't happen until he was five!

Phoning It In

The Northerns think that one of the hens decided to take it easy for the day.

Center: normal size. Left: "fairy" or "witch" egg.

Choices

Popsicle shopping: LittleNortherner picked one, NorthernDaddy picked one.

NorthernDaddy chose his selection based on flavor.

LittleNortherner based his selection on.....something.

Sometimes, Sleep

Many times, raising a child can be rewarding. A parent can receive spontaneous hugs, beaming smiles, and tremendous amounts of love from their adorable child.
--
Some times, being a parent can be difficult. A parent can learn to say "Excuse Me" in a dozen different ways as they find creative ways to chase their wayward dancing fairy under other shoppers'  carts and through busy aisles. Parents can struggle against the stuck wheel on the grocery cart made harder to steer by the forty pounds of hooting monkey hanging off the front end. Parents learn that discipline in the grocery store can be accomplished: a calm, steady voice helping to guide their child through behavior options and making good choices. (Or they can learn to leave the child at home when shopping for food...)

Some times, the switch is turned off.

Sometimes, they sleep.
